VOISINAGE FORUM DAYS: a successful second edition
The Aula of the Virtual University of Côte d'Ivoire (UVCI) has brilliantly welcomed the "VOISINAGE FORUM DAYS", a major event under the chairmanship of Professor Koné Tiémoman. This meeting brought together a host of key players: business leaders, teachers-researchers, university administrative and technical staff, students and technology enthusiasts.
After the traditional opening speech of the President of the UVCI, a panel led by Dr.Achi Thiziers was devoted to a topical theme: "The challenges and opportunities of the Blockchain and cryptocurrency for rural and urban sustainable development in Africa". The interventions of Mr Stéphane Aouely, Managing Director of Ejara West Africa, and Mr Chris Evan Kouakou, CEO of Abidjan Exchange, provided valuable insights into the potential of these new technologies.
The experts stressed the blockchain's ability to revolutionize financial systems by promoting transparency, traceability and transaction efficiency. They also highlighted its essential role in the development of entrepreneurship, a fundamental pillar of the UVCI. In addition, they illustrated how blockchain can optimize supply chains, especially in the agricultural sector, by building trust between stakeholders and opening new markets.
Mr.Lare Sounkana Michel, Director General of Ben Tech in Lomé, shared his concrete experience of using cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin, in managing various projects.
The relationship between blockchain, cryptocurrency and sustainable development was at the heart of the discussions. Participants explored innovative economic models made possible by these technologies in the health, education and agriculture sectors.
Although cryptocurrency is still a source of questioning and reluctance, experts have provided reassuring insights into their reliability and potential to transform African economies.
In conclusion, the "VOISINAGE FORUM DAYS" confirmed the crucial role that blockchain and cryptocurrency can play in Africa's economic development. By promoting innovation, transparency and financial inclusion, these technologies open up new opportunities to meet the continent's challenges.
The Professor Koné Tiémoman closed this meeting by thanking participants and experts for their contribution to this collective reflection, which is fully in line with the vision of the UVCI to make technology a lever of development for Africa.
